Schweizer Reneke Municipality
Tel 053 963 1331
The town was laid out in 1888 and named after two Boer officers (Captain Schweizer and Field-Cornet Reneke) killed in a local engagement against the Koranas in 1885. Despite a historic heritage, it kept pace with modern developments, as is evident from thriving maize farming of which a gigantic elevator is proof. Surrounded by sunflower and maize fields - an attractive historical area to explore.
