Newlands is a leafy suburb on the eastern slopes of TableMountain. It is the home of Newlands Rugby Stadium - venue of the opening ceremony of the Rugby World Cup in 1995, and Newlands Cricket Stadium - venue of the opening ceremony of the Cricket World Cup in 2003. It is also home to the Montebello Design Centre which has a craft shop, sculpture garden, studios, a restaurant and the first contemporary Bushman (San) Gallery.
