The villages of Velddrif and Laaiplek are busy fishing centres, situated at the mouth of the Berg River. The river is popular with water sport enthusiasts. The town is a ideal base from where to explore the West coast.
The meandering Berg River reflects the tranquility of this village. A birder's mecca, wader hotspot and fishermen, bokkoms and beaches - this is what life is about. Our lovely beaches are situated along St. Helena Bay and form part of the West Coast Whale Route. A deep water marina and excellent sailing conditions in St. Helena Bay is and added attraction for sailors. A wonderful holiday haven offering solitude or loads of fun on warm West Coast days.
